Mr. Nestor Jan L. Suba, a Special Education Specialist, recently conducted a seminar-workshop in Moncada, Tarlac, on July 15, 2024. He delved into two topics titled"Understanding Unique Learners: Exploring the Characteristics of Children with Special Needs" and "Gabay sa Pagtuturo ng mga Batang Naiiba Ngunit Hindi Mas Mababa". The seminar emphasized the importance of adaptations and support to enable students with diverse needs to participate effectively in the general curriculum in child development education.
Mr. Suba provided a clear distinction between modifications and accommodations to the child development workers, empowering them to determine the necessary and suitable action. Supports known as accommodations have been developed to assist learners in accessing the general curriculum while maintaining the curriculum's expectations. While modifications entail making necessary adjustments to the instructional level, content, or performance criteria in order to better cater to the individual needs of every learner.
Educators from the municipalities of Moncada and San Manuel received practical strategies to create an inclusive learning environment, ensuring that all students, regardless of their abilities, receive a high-quality education.
